Ladybug Ink Blog Hop

It is that time again.  You may have arrived here at my site via Nichole Gonzales Jaramillo's blog,   Since the last time we got or Hop under way, we went on vacation.

That was a lot of fun and have lot's of photos to get posted andget started on scrapbooking more regularly.  We went to Disney World for a week and our daughter Kelly, from WI, along with our youngest grandson, Andrew, met us in Atlanta, totally unplanned, where we were waiting for our connecting flight to Orlando to be cleared for boarding.  All flights were delayed due to weather in the SE area of the US.  We were sitting there waiting for a boarding announcement and I looked up and saw this young boy standing a ways from me and my first thought, wow he looks a lot like Douglas, his older brother.  Suddenly, I realized no this would be Andrew!  I looked up and there stood Kelly smiling real big at the thought she had pulled off the surprise of all surprises on that trip!  It was a very nice surprise, needless to say!  To top it all off then we were boarded on a BIG airplane with 3 sections of seats.  Never been on a plane that big!

We spent a week there and it was sad to have to say goodbye to the two of them.  While we were there an old friend of Kelly's from her much younger days met up with us there and it was good catching up with Kevin.  It had been a lot of years since we had seen him. We stayed in new resort on property, Art of Animation.  The section we were in was the Cars section and everything was decorated so cool and all around the Cars theme.

Don and I also had the blessing of a couple we have known for many years just happened to be there at the same time, so we got an opportunity to spend some time with them catching up.  They have been serving churches in Texas and have recently retired and they have settled in TX.  Robert was Associate Pastor at our former church, St. Paul's UMC, here in Albuquerque.  We had become quite close to  Robert and Cynthia as they stood beside us thru some extremely tough family times.   At any rate Robert and Cynthia were there to give us lots of love, encouragement, and much prayer when we truly needed it.  Oh yeah and then there was the fire and we were homeless for awhile, but we managed to get thru all that as well!!!  Only thru the grace of God, a church family who wrapped us up in God's family love, families of Brenda and Nick's friends, and not to forget all my friends and co-workers at the phone company who all came alongside us to help get us back on our feet.  Don't know what we would have done without all that support.

Anyway I am now home and busy like crazy with Stampin'UP.  This month our theme is Halloween.  I made a couple of the cutest little treat items, you could call them party favors perhaps, but I am not sharing those.  They are for a class I am having on Saturday.  I did however, make a really cool Halloween card and I hope you all like it.

I used Pumpkin Pie and Very Vanilla Cardstock, Black Ink, Wicked Cool clear block stampset, linen thread, and a button.  It was such fun to make.

Hope you enjoy the rest of our blog hop, now you will be off to Liz Kay's blog,

Check back next week, and hopefully I will have some more pictures to share with you!
