More Fun Stuff from the New 2013-2014 IBC

I have really been on a roll here of late and I think that is a good thing.  I actually am wanting to make cards and cutesy gift ideas and have more to come.  Today though I wanted to share a re-edited version of my Blog Hop Card.  I didn't realize it was so dark so I made a minor adjustment and it certainly looks a lot better.  Let me know what you think, please?

This card is one of the projects we will be making at my 5 Ways of Washi Tape class schedule in the last week of June.  The original plan called for some new antique style buttons in our catalog, but I didn't have those and chose to make one from our new modeling clay and molds in our new catalog on page 167.   They are so cool.  And it isn't that hard to make them.  The best part is being able to use our markers and match to whatever color you want!  How cool is that?

So if you want to learn more about Washi Tape and how to use the tape, make your own faux washi tape, be certain to sign up for one of the sessions.  Check out original post on this class posted a few days ago.  You will find I now am accepting payments via Pay Pal.
Some of you are probably shocked as I was not ever going to use PayPal, well I got over that issue!  Remember when you register you will be receiving not only all the supplies necessary to create the 4 cards and envelope style envelop to keep them in, individualized instruction by myself, printed instructions along with templates to take home with you, a package of the Epic Day This and That Washi Tape, a stamping sponge, and (6) 6" x 6" sheets of the Epic Day This and That Designer Series Paper.  In order to have all supplies available for each individual I do need the payment made for the class no later than Thursday, June 20.

OK now the class I held late in May involved 2 projects, and they were both straight from the most recent Stampin'Success.  Didn't get the chance to post these projects prior to the class but would like to share them with you now.  These next two pictures are of the same project but the first one is entitled as 2 loves for 1 couple.  My husband Don is passionate about rose bushes.  This year he hasn't been able to work with them as much as he would like but we did get a few clipped from our bushes before all the first blooms are blown to bits with the high winds we have had.  My passion as most of you know is Stampin'UP so here is the gift box we created.  The sentiment comes from a new Hostess set entitled Simply Sketched.  I think this set is going to be one of my all time favorites.  The second picture is simply a close up of the box. Super easy to make.

Now this last picture is the card we made, also from the recent publication from Stampin'UP to Demonstrators only.  This little bi-monthly magazine is so full of ideas and generally always very easy to duplicate.  It is a great perk to receive as a demonstrator.  Really should give it some thought to sign up as a demo. It is really easy, call me so we can chat about it. I love to watch the ladies work on their projects at the classes.  Once they are comfortable with the whole idea of stamping, which in most cases only takes about 2 classes to get them there, except in my case!  I have to be honest it has taken me probably years to get to comfortable.  That should tell you, you don't have to be talented to do this, just determined to learn it, and I can teach you.

Back to the class.  It is always a joy to watch how they change things up a bit to make the card uniquely theirs.  Some choose to use a different greeting.  Some choose to change around how many were Bermuda Bay and how many were Coastal Cabana and then they did the same with the butterflies.  I love my Stamping ladies, they are so much fun.  They have become the sisters I would have liked to have had.

Well I do believe I have rambled enough this time around, don't forget to register for the class by next Thursday, June 20.

See ya next time!

LadyBug Ink Blog Hop for June

Whew, when it turned hot, it turned hot.  Like triple digits this week, generally that doesn't happen until July.  All spring we were complaining how cold it was.  I guess now we are getting the other extreme!  Still no rain though which is a real bummer, everything is so dry. Lot's of forest fires all around the state.  The biggest has been in the area of one of my children's favorite places to go camping, back in the day I did that sort of thing.  Thank goodness they are all grown up and can go on their own camping trips!  Although this year most all camping and picnic areas are closed to due to the extreme drought conditions and high fire danger.

Well because of the heat, it seemed wiser to stay inside the confines of the cool house yesterday and I was able to get a card made for the LadyBug Ink June Blog Hop.  Our theme this month was what we wanted to use from the new catalog.  If you are coming via the Blog Hop you most likely just arrived from Nichole Gonzales Jaramillo's blog.  I also thought while I was at it I would also use this card idea in an upcoming class.  It will be focused on using washi tape.  I had heard of it in the past, but just could not get too excited about it.  Since Stampin'UP is selling it and promoting it I think I best get on the bandwagon.  This design is not my original, but I did change it up a bit when it came to the button, other than that it comes from a class plan offered by Crafty Person Productions Inc.  It is called 5 Ways of Washi Tape.

It includes 4 cards and an envelope style box to put them in for gift giving or just to keep from getting lost!  Keep an eye out for date, time, place, and cost.  I will be offering it at 3 different days and time frames.  Hopefully you will find one which will work for you.

This card was made using Basic Gray and Whisper White cardstock, ink was Jet Black Stazon, and Crumb Cake Marker, the Good Cheer Stamp Set, The Epic Day This & That Washi Tape, a button made with our new Molding Clay and button and flower molds.  I also added the linen thread.  Check out my online catalog from my blog, www.ktscreations.stampinup.net, to purchase or check back for class information.

Hope you have a pleasant day.  Now you are off to Liz Kay's blog, www.kraftasticmrskay.blogspot.com, for the next LadyBug member of the hop.  Just in case you get lost here is a list of all the blog hop participants.

See ya'all next month on the next hop.

Triple Digit Heat Keeps This Crafter In Doors!

So what do I do when I am indoors all day long in triple digit temp's?  Well it is not house cleaning as that makes it even hotter!  But going to my craft room and doing some straightening up and organizing, does keep me much more productive, because it is not work it is fun.  Plus then I start thinking I should make something.  So here are a few cards I have made recently that I think are pretty cool.  Some with new product and some with retired product but who cares, I certainly don't as I like hanging on to my favorite sets.  The first card I have to show is one I made for my daughter who put herself thru college, working full time, single mom with 3 sons, 8, 18, and 23.  She graduated this past month with her degree, recently remarried to a really nice man whom she has known for many years, but both had to go thru life events which eventually led them back to each other, and from what I see, they are both much better off because of those events.  Course I am just a proud mama, what can I say!

I hope she liked this card,  The colors are Whisper White, Real Red and Sky Blue.  I embossed the Sky Blue CS with a retired cloud embossing folder.  I really was disappointed SU did not keep this folder.  The balloons and the sentiment were from our recently retired Up, Up, and Away stamp set.  This one is a keeper as is the embossing folder.  The inside sentiment is also one of my favorite sets which was the Word Play set.  Also retired and a keeper.  I loved using this for gradation cards.

This card was our monthly LadyBug Ink Swap this month which was to focus on using product from the newly released 2013-2014 Idea Book and Catalog.  The colors are all current, a couple of them were moved from the retiring In Colors lineup to our regular color families so you will still be able to order Calypso Coral and Pool Party!  I also used Wild Wasabi and I think Daffodil Delight.  The sentiment is from one of our new Hostess Sets, which you are going to want to be able to get, so book a class so you can earn it.  The set is called Simply Sketched.  The stem of the flower is from Stampin'UP's Fabulous Florets.  The base of the card is made using Crumb Cake.  The flower is stamped from the new Secret Garden set and then cut using the matching Framelit set.  The Designer Series Paper is from the Epic Day This and That.  And of course a pearl was needed.  I sponged the Whisper White with Calypso Coral and Pool Party around the edges.  It was a really fun card to make.  All of these items not noted as retired can be ordered via my online store.  Feel free to call me if you have questions.

Hope to have more cards to share.  I have made a bunch in the past months and unfortunately did not get pictures of them all, but would like to share some more with you.
