Here we are in July. Where is this summer going to so fast? Not fast enough for me, not with the high temp's and humidity for NM. I have had a really difficult time getting thru these days. But, thankfully, I have my favorite activity, Stampin'UP, to help get my mind off of all that, and surprisingly, my craft room seems to be one of the cooler parts of the house! Only challenge is there are things to be done in the other parts of the house that are not cool! What is one to do? Go make a card!
Well let's get on with the business of our July Blog Hop. I know you most likely came here from either my email or Nichole's site. So let's get started with my creation and then you will move on to Liz Kay's contribution. All the lady's in our group are truly creative so enjoy, and let me know what you think of mine.
I started out much earlier this evening on this project and got all done and bam I did something and lost it all! Don't forget to hit the save button at least once! Oh my anyway. Our theme this month is the 2013- 2015 New In-Colors. I actually have two cards I want to share this month, but the first one is the one I actually made for this hop. The additional card was a design I took from our Stampin' Success magazine for ideas for a class I had but just had not ever shared it, so figured it would be good to show it now.
So my first card is something I located on another site, http://classycutupscreations.com/ The aluminum foil technique was something I wanted to try.
This card uses Strawberry Slush, Baked Brown Sugar, Pistachio Pudding, Very Vanilla, Bubblegum Green, and Primrose Petals.
Stamp Sets: Oh Hello, Papillon Potpourri, Apothecary Art.
Cardstock: Strawberry Slush, Baked Brown Sugar, Pistachio Pudding, Very Vanilla
Ink: Strawberry Slush, Primrose Petals, Baked Brown Sugar, Pistachio Pudding, Gumball Green Markers for the image on the oval. Ink pad for butterfly image and greeting.
Tools: Big Shot, Wood Grain and Designer Frames Embossing Folders, Tasteful Trim Die, Word Window Punch and Itty Bitty Butterfly punch. Sponge for the oval edge and for the aluminum foil prior to embossing.
Embellishments: Basic Rhinestones and Linen Thread
Now this card was one I used for a class. This particular design was featured in a recent Stampin' Success, I did change it up a bit but really liked the overall finished product.
This card is made using Coastal Cabana (new in-color) and Bermuda Bay for the colors.
The card stock is using those two colors plus Whisper white.
Ink: Coastal Cabana and Bermuda Bay
Stamp Sets: Oh Hello
Accessories: Itty Butterfly Punch, Basic Pearls, Taffeta ribbon
Hope you all enjoy the blog hop. I am associated with some really talented SU Demonstrators and the next one on the hop is Liz Kay. See below for the complete list, but you can click on the next button also. See you next month!
